Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Chemicals and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which rose 1.06% or 0.40 points to trade at 38.10 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 0.66% or 0.38 points to end at 58.00 and CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) was up 0.26% or 0.09 points to 35.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 3.91% or 2.09 points to trade at 51.36 in late trade. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 3.66% or 0.21 points to end at 5.53 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) shed 3.65% or 2.05 points to 54.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 310 to 218 and 189 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.56% or 0.26 to $46.32 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $49.41 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.50% or 6.75 to trade at $1350.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.63% to 4.3003, while USD/PLN rose 0.73% to 3.8165.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 94.86.
