BEIJING, Dec 12 (Reuters) - China National Grain and Oils Information Center said in a daily report:
* China will import 3.8 million tonnes of rapeseed in the 2016/17 season that ends in May, down by 14 percent from previous year's 4.4 million tonnes
* In first five months of the season from June-October, China imported 1.29 million tonnes of rapeseed, down 689,000 tonnes from last year
* The drop comes after a months-long trade dispute between China and Canada, the world's largest exporter of the yellow-flowering crop that curbed shipments into the Asian nation That spat ended in September
* While overall imports will drop, the report said buying will pick up in January fueled by good crushing margins and rising rape oil and rape meal prices since October
* Farmers in China are expected to cut their rapeseed acreage by 5 percent this autumn from last year
