Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 5.00% or 0.200 points to trade at 4.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Casa Grande (LM:CSG) added 3.23% or 0.100 points to end at 3.200 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was up 2.45% or 0.200 points to 8.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unacem (LM:CEL), which fell 6.90% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.350 at the close. Inretail Peru (LM:INR) declined 1.92% or 0.250 points to end at 12.750 and Enersur SA (LM:ENE) was down 1.41% or 0.100 points to 7.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 13 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Unacem (LM:CEL) fell to all time lows; down 6.90% or 0.100 to 1.350. Shares in Enersur SA (LM:ENE) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.41% or 0.100 to 7.000.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 6.66% or 2.24 to $31.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 5.42% or 1.95 to hit $34.04 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.19% or 13.30 to trade at $1129.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.30% to 3.4850, while EUR/PEN rose 0.16% to 3.7885.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.57% at 99.03.
