Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 4.92% or 1.18 points to trade at 25.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) added 4.21% or 0.040 points to end at 0.990 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) was up 2.84% or 0.08 points to 2.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which fell 4.62% or 2.17 points to trade at 44.83 at the close. Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) declined 1.47% or 2.15 points to end at 144.50 and Firstcity Bnk (LAGOS:FCMB) was down 1.37% or 0.03 points to 2.16.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 24 to 18 and 59 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.22% or 0.10 to $46.18 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $48.55 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.20% or 2.30 to trade at $1175.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.38% to 226.420, while USD/NGN fell 0.05% to 198.900.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 94.85.
