Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Food Producers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.21% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 3.62% or 1.85 points to trade at 52.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) added 2.12% or 1.76 points to end at 84.62 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was up 1.58% or 0.60 points to 38.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 3.25% or 0.24 points to trade at 7.05 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 1.57% or 0.880 points to end at 55.110 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 1.37% or 0.22 points to 15.87.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 82 to 77 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) fell to all time lows; losing 3.25% or 0.24 to 7.05.
Gold for December delivery was down 2.42% or 28.50 to $1147.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $45.89 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.17 to trade at $48.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.0960, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.7163.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 97.47.
