Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which rose 3.89% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.2940 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) added 2.60% or 0.0540 points to end at 2.1330 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was up 2.50% or 0.0001 points to 0.0040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT), which fell 1.71% or 0.2100 points to trade at 12.0750 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) declined 1.57% or 0.0070 points to end at 0.4390 and Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS) was down 1.06% or 0.0770 points to 7.2100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 31 to 20 and 1 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.70% or 0.84 to $48.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.32% or 0.15 to hit $47.00 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.70 to trade at $1117.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.7286.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 95.39.
