Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Finance & Investment and Banking sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.41% to hit a new 3-month low, while the ADX General index added 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which rose 1.56% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.300 at the close. Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) added 1.34% or 0.013 points to end at 0.985 and Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK) was up 0.91% or 0.010 points to 1.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA), which lost 1.97% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.490 in late trade. DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) declined 1.94% or 0.020 points to end at 1.010 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) shed 1.83% or 0.020 points to 1.070.
The top performers on the ADX General were Fujairah Cement Industries Co PSC (AD:FCI) which rose 14.14% to 1.130, Buhaira Nat In (AD:ABNI) which was up 10.65% to settle at 2.390 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which gained 7.14% to close at 0.900.
The worst performers were Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 9.86% to 0.640 in late trade, Em Driving Co (AD:DRIV) which lost 7.04% to settle at 9.25 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 5.26% to 1.0800 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 7 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 17 fell and 11 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.79% or 0.38 to $47.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.57% or 0.29 to hit $50.63 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 8.75 to trade at $1257.25 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED rose 0.58% to 3.9909.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 98.94.
