Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Healthcare and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.03% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB), which rose 2.81% or 1.650 points to trade at 60.200 at the close. Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) added 2.37% or 0.100 points to end at 4.320 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 2.43% or 1.030 points to 43.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 4.20% or 9.730 points to trade at 221.130 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 4.32% or 1.510 points to end at 33.460 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 3.38% or 0.420 points to 12.010.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 68 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 2.14% or 26.70 to $1221.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 3.98% or 1.65 to hit $39.80 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 3.06% or 1.28 to trade at $40.51 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.49% to 17.5989, while EUR/MXN rose 1.20% to 19.6776.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 96.06.
