Investing.com – Norway stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Insurance and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX declined 3.19%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OL:REC), which rose 4.91% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA) added 1.38% or 0.90 points to end at 66.00 and TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) was up 1.14% or 1.3 points to 115.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which fell 10.43% or 0.7 points to trade at 5.7 at the close. DnB ASA (OL:DNB) declined 6.97% or 6.8 points to end at 91.4 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was down 6.86% or 1.54 points to 20.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 141 to 41 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) fell to all time lows; down 10.43% or 0.7 to 5.7. Shares in DnB ASA (OL:DNB) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.97% or 6.8 to 91.4. Shares in Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) fell to 5-year lows; down 6.86% or 1.54 to 20.90.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.09% or 0.30 to $27.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.99% or 0.30 to hit $30.54 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 4.95% or 59.10 to trade at $1253.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 1.06% to 9.7117, while USD/NOK rose 0.43% to 8.5495.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 95.39.
