Investing.com - As bitcoin investors wonder how low bitcoin will go, they may want to familiarize themselves with two reliable technical indicators used for stocks and commodities,
One is contango, the other is the death cross. And both are bearish indicators.
Bitcoin has already entered a contango phase, which is when an asset's price in the futures market is higher than its price on the spot market.
That was the case recently when bitcoin futures contracts on the CBOE traded at a higher price than bitcoin on the Coinbase exchange.
As for the death cross, it occurs when the the 50-day moving price average crosses through and below the 200-day moving price average.
That is yet to happen, but bitcoin is getting close to that threshold.
