Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Finance & Investment sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 1.80%, while the ADX General index added 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM), which rose 4.17% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.750 at the close. Meanwhile, Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) added 3.71% or 0.240 points to end at 6.710 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) was up 3.28% or 0.040 points to 1.260 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC), which fell 4.61% or 0.160 points to trade at 3.310 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 3.56% or 0.024 points to end at 0.650 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was down 0.62% or 0.020 points to 3.210.
The top performers on the ADX General were Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which rose 2.95% to 2.44, Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was up 2.61% to settle at 7.86 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which gained 2.56% to close at 0.400.
The worst performers were Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which was down 6.04% to 2.80 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 3.33% to settle at 2.61 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 2.35% to 0.830 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 22 to 3; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 15 rose and 9 declined, while 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.24% or 0.56 to $46.10 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.34% or 0.65 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.41% or 4.70 to trade at $1131.90 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.26% to 4.1280.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 95.91.
