Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 1.22% or 0.0320 points to trade at 2.6500 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 0.30% or 0.0450 points to end at 15.0050 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 0.24% or 0.0070 points to 2.9240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 2.25% or 0.191 points to trade at 8.303 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.45% or 0.0230 points to end at 1.5590 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 1.27% or 0.0002 points to 0.0155.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 27 to 17 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.39% or 0.18 to $45.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.05% or 0.02 to hit $43.88 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1318.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1164, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8597.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 95.89.
