Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Transport and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.39%, while the ADX General index lost 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which rose 5.20% or 0.033 points to trade at 0.668 at the close. Meanwhile, AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) added 2.17% or 0.040 points to end at 1.840 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 1.94% or 0.015 points to 0.790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which fell 3.84% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.476 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 2.99% or 0.017 points to end at 0.552 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was down 1.69% or 0.030 points to 1.770.
The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 11.20% to 6.95, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was up 2.73% to settle at 7.89 and Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which gained 2.02% to close at 1.01.
The worst performers were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 5.50% to 5.15 in late trade, Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which lost 4.44% to settle at 0.86 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 3.41% to 0.850 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 17 to 11; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 19 fell and 6 advanced, while 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $46.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.70 to trade at $1168.10 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.27% to 4.1912.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 94.54.
