Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which rose 6.39% or 1.32 points to trade at 21.98 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) added 5.17% or 0.81 points to end at 16.48 and Deva Holding (IS:DEVA) was up 2.96% or 0.100 points to 3.480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 3.33% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.290 in late trade. Trabzonspor Sportif (IS:TSPOR) declined 3.31% or 0.100 points to end at 2.920 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) shed 3.08% or 0.160 points to 5.040.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 186 to 152 and 70 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.38% or 4.35 to $1141.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $52.91 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.26 to trade at $54.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.05% to 3.5040, while EUR/TRY fell 0.08% to 3.6600.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 102.77.
