Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.22%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which rose 1.71% or 3.70 points to trade at 220.50 at the close. Orange SA (PA:ORAN) added 1.50% or 0.21 points to end at 14.21 and Klepierre (PA:LOIM) was up 1.43% or 0.52 points to 36.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 4.65% or 0.347 points to trade at 7.110 in late trade. Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) declined 1.39% or 0.165 points to end at 11.735 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) shed 1.37% or 0.84 points to 60.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Innate Pharma (PA:IPH) which rose 7.51% to 14.450, Orpea (PA:ORP) which was up 1.86% to settle at 74.84 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) which gained 1.71% to close at 220.50.
The worst performers were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which was down 4.65% to 7.110 in late trade, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which lost 3.43% to settle at 14.0800 and Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which was down 2.18% to 29.21 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 308 to 263 and 104 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.09% to 15.02.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.37% or 4.25 to $1141.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.45% or 0.24 to hit $53.19 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.04 to trade at $55.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0440, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8411.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 102.77.
