Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Information Technology and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 5.64% or 2.73 points to trade at 51.13 at the close. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) added 4.35% or 13.10 points to end at 314.00 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 4.04% or 0.130 points to 3.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which lost 3.67% or 0.180 points to trade at 4.720 in late trade. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 2.51% or 1.71 points to end at 66.49 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) shed 1.91% or 2.05 points to 105.12.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 279 to 240 and 175 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.66% or 0.80 to $49.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.24% or 0.63 to hit $51.39 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.66% or 8.41 to trade at $1263.59 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.40% to 4.1981, while USD/PLN rose 0.66% to 3.7436.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 97.11.
