Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Power & Energy, Trading and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Asia Asset Finance Ltd (CM:ASAS), which rose 13.33% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Singer Industries PLC (CM:SINI) added 8.47% or 14.60 points to end at 187.00 and Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) was up 8.18% or 0.90 points to 11.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) declined 23.79% or 594.70 points to end at 1904.70 and PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) was down 20.00% or 0.10 points to 0.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 102 to 89 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; falling 20.00% or 0.10 to 0.40.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.59% or 0.65 to $41.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.09% or 0.91 to hit $44.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1068.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.27% to 217.015, while USD/LKR rose 0.23% to 142.680.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 99.53.
