Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Household, Banking and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 1.59% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which rose 10.00% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.47 at the close. Meanwhile, J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 7.43% or 0.022 points to end at 0.318 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) was up 5.85% or 0.23 points to 4.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which fell 17.06% or 0.14 points to trade at 0.70 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 10.00% or 1.25 points to end at 11.25 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was down 9.40% or 0.028 points to 0.270.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 31 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) fell to all time lows; down 17.06% or 0.14 to 0.70.
Gold for February delivery was up 2.15% or 22.80 to $1084.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.68% or 0.69 to hit $40.39 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.34 to trade at $43.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.0890, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.7208.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 98.25.
