Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Energy, Basic Materials and Developers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 4.11% or 0.46 points to trade at 11.64 at the close. Meanwhile, LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 2.89% or 156.95 points to end at 5580.00 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 2.85% or 0.08 points to 2.89 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 2.47% or 0.85 points to trade at 33.60 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 1.91% or 1.26 points to end at 64.77 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was down 1.64% or 1.61 points to 96.29.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 327 to 230 and 121 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.80% or 0.28 to $35.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.58% or 0.21 to hit $37.27 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.56% or 16.40 to trade at $1066.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.87% to 4.2636, while USD/PLN fell 1.05% to 3.9314.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 98.83.
