Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Industrials and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 1.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 5.50% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.211 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 3.12% or 0.010 points to end at 0.330 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was up 2.58% or 0.006 points to 0.239 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 6.00% or 0.510 points to trade at 7.990 in late trade. Bco Continenta (LM:CON) declined 4.45% or 0.170 points to end at 3.650 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 3.80% or 0.019 points to 0.481.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 5 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.77% or 0.32 to $41.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.05% or 0.02 to hit $43.87 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.65% or 20.60 to trade at $1227.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2740, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6810.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 94.94.
