Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 9.02% or 0.3400 points to trade at 4.1100 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 7.16% or 0.298 points to end at 4.460 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) was up 4.26% or 0.91 points to 22.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V), which lost 5.24% or 0.440 points to trade at 7.950 in late trade. Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMAS) declined 2.06% or 0.80 points to end at 37.99 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) shed 0.84% or 0.12 points to 14.19.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 121 to 57 and 12 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.66% or 0.33 to $50.21 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.59% or 0.29 to hit $49.42 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.45% or 5.75 to trade at $1264.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1352, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.7662.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 93.53.
