Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 1.56% or 0.0060 points to trade at 0.3910 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 0.95% or 0.0015 points to end at 0.1600 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 0.69% or 0.0060 points to 0.8720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 7.68% or 0.036 points to trade at 0.433 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 3.11% or 0.1560 points to end at 4.8550 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) shed 1.39% or 0.0860 points to 6.1000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 17 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 1.05% or 0.55 to $51.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.01% or 0.50 to hit $48.78 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.05 to trade at $1201.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.95% to 1.0676, while EUR/GBP rose 0.90% to 0.8771.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 101.35.
