Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 16.40 at the close. Randstad (AS:RAND) fell 0.21% or 0.09 points to end at 41.08 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was down 0.44% or 0.43 points to 96.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 7.71% or 4.920 points to trade at 58.860 in late trade. Aegon (AS:AEGN) declined 3.15% or 0.112 points to end at 3.440 and SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) shed 2.57% or 0.32 points to 12.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 137 to 32 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 21.17% to 17.59.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 3.48% or 1.55 to $46.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 3.14% or 1.46 to hit $47.94 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.15% or 2.05 to trade at $1343.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1254, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8679.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 95.21.
