Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Travel & Leisure and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 4.87% or 0.122 points to trade at 2.628 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 4.14% or 0.430 points to end at 10.810 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) was up 3.57% or 0.124 points to 3.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem (MI:SPMI), which lost 2.76% or 0.0132 points to trade at 0.4657 in late trade. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) declined 1.30% or 0.0105 points to end at 0.7975 and Mediaset (MI:MS) shed 0.81% or 0.032 points to 3.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 190 to 146 and 21 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.38% or 0.20 to $53.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.56% or 0.31 to hit $55.90 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.25 to trade at $1226.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.0575, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8484.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 101.27.
