Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.48% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.2070 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.31% or 0.107 points to end at 8.279 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 0.69% or 0.0060 points to 0.8740 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 4.33% or 0.0330 points to trade at 0.7300 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.69% or 0.0300 points to end at 1.0842 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 1.94% or 0.1090 points to 5.5170.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.10% or 0.60 to $55.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.93% or 0.49 to hit $52.98 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.05 to trade at $1131.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.0448, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.8495.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 102.98.
