Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Glass, Cement & Glass and Cement sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Kinko Optical (TW:6209), which rose 10.00% or 2.20 points to trade at 24.20 at the close. Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) added 10.00% or 1.45 points to end at 15.95 and Aces Elec (TW:3605) was up 9.94% or 2.30 points to 25.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aver (TW:3669), which lost 9.98% or 2.25 points to trade at 20.30 in late trade. Formosa Lab (TW:4746) declined 9.94% or 9.90 points to end at 89.70 and Space Shuttle (TW:2440) shed 5.31% or 0.46 points to 8.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 508 to 251 and 97 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.14% or 0.95 to $45.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.50% or 0.24 to hit $47.87 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.30% or 3.95 to trade at $1330.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.36% to 31.384, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2126.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 95.71.
