Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 3.31% or 6.800 points to trade at 212.000 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) added 1.24% or 0.450 points to end at 36.850 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 1.04% or 0.420 points to 40.990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 11.60% or 0.530 points to trade at 4.040 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 3.18% or 1.710 points to end at 52.000 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) shed 2.51% or 0.290 points to 11.260.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 57 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 1.16% or 14.00 to $1224.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 4.76% or 1.59 to hit $31.80 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 4.09% or 1.42 to trade at $33.27 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.80% to 18.2230, while EUR/MXN rose 0.61% to 20.0581.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 97.50.
