Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 2.15% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 19.23% or 0.0250 points to trade at 0.1550 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 5.59% or 0.4370 points to end at 8.2570 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 4.12% or 0.4400 points to 11.1200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 1.52% or 0.0270 points to trade at 1.7480 in late trade. REN (LS:RENE) declined 0.22% or 0.0060 points to end at 2.7840 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) gained 0.03% or 0.0020 points to 6.3990.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 33 to 12 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 3.07% or 1.19 to $39.93 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 4.02% or 1.46 to hit $37.80 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1230.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1084, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.7856.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 96.87.
