Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Motors and Trading sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Asia Asset Finance Ltd (CM:ASAS) added 13.33% or 0.200 points to end at 1.700 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC (CM:PEG), which lost 7.82% or 2.80 points to trade at 33.00 in late trade. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) declined 7.14% or 0.100 points to end at 1.300 and CT Land Development PLC (CM:CTLD) shed 5.92% or 3.40 points to 54.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 119 to 58 and 43 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.07% or 0.03 to $44.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $46.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.16% or 2.05 to trade at $1309.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.23% to 190.870, while USD/LKR fell 0.16% to 145.375.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 96.03.
