Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 5.77% or 0.1260 points to trade at 2.3090 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.22% or 0.0620 points to end at 5.1500 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.90% or 0.0460 points to 5.1610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 6.61% or 0.0240 points to trade at 0.3390 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 1.92% or 0.008 points to end at 0.409 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 1.50% or 0.0130 points to 0.8560.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was down 0.69% or 0.39 to $55.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.49% or 0.26 to hit $53.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.15 to trade at $1276.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.0604, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8486.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 100.62.
