LONDON, Nov 5 (Reuters) - The Bank of Canada's recent growth forecasts are not overly optimistic, the bank's Governor Stephen Poloz said on Monday.
Speaking after a speech in London, Poloz said the forecasts were not "particularly optimistic" and were largely in line with other institutions' projections for the country's economy.
He added that the bank's internal models were predicting developments quite well at the moment and that surveys were showing that companies were preparing to raise wages next year.
Poloz also said a resolution of the escalating trade war between the United States and China could be a "massive injection of good will" for many economies.
