Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.24% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which rose 2.88% or 0.1550 points to trade at 5.5450 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) added 1.84% or 0.0150 points to end at 0.8300 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.13% or 0.0090 points to 0.8090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 3.45% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.1960 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 3.06% or 0.0413 points to end at 1.3087 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 1.67% or 0.1010 points to 5.9570.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.50% or 0.27 to $54.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.24% or 0.63 to hit $51.47 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.93% or 10.95 to trade at $1161.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.0536, while EUR/GBP fell 0.72% to 0.8380.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 101.73.
