Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Household and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which rose 10.78% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.113 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 7.04% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.1520 and Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) was up 5.95% or 0.1500 points to 2.6700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which lost 5.48% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.328 in late trade. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 4.69% or 0.006 points to end at 0.122 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 4.69% or 0.030 points to 0.610.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 48 to 42 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.60% or 8.25 to $1364.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.00% or 1.58 to hit $41.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.76% or 1.57 to trade at $43.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.68% to 1.1148, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8375.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 95.51.
