Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr), which rose 7.69% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.120 at the close. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) added 6.76% or 0.100 points to end at 1.580 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 4.92% or 0.021 points to 0.448 in late trade.
Biggest losers included FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr), which lost 5.35% or 0.190 points to trade at 3.360 in late trade. Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) declined 3.68% or 0.018 points to end at 0.471 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 2.57% or 0.045 points to 1.705.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 53 to 32 and 23 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.27% or 3.35 to $1235.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.60% or 0.85 to hit $52.16 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.35% or 0.75 to trade at $54.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.0682, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8594.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 100.42.
