March 6 (Reuters) - U.S. stock futures pointed to a sharplyhigher opening on Tuesday after South Korea said it would holdits first summit in more than a decade with North Korea and thatthe latter was open to talks with the United States ondenuclearization.
The news added to early gains for U.S. markets, which havebeen recovering from a bout of concern over the possibility of aglobal trade war following remarks by President Donald Trumplast week.
At 6:49 a.m. ET, Dow e-minis 1YMc1 were up 147 points, oraround 0.6 percent. S&P 500 e-minis ESc1 gained 12.25 points,or around half of a percent and Nasdaq 100 e-minis NQc1 rose42.75 points, or 0.6 percent.
