Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Insurance, Services and Banking sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.12%, while the ADX General index declined 0.10%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 4.17% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.000 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 2.73% or 0.030 points to end at 1.130 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 2.25% or 0.090 points to 4.090 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which lost 2.42% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.483 in late trade. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) declined 1.83% or 0.009 points to end at 0.484 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) shed 1.69% or 0.050 points to 2.900.

The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 9.85% to 2.900, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was up 5.26% to settle at 1.400 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which gained 4.11% to close at 1.52.

The worst performers were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 1.25% to 0.7900 in late trade, First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which lost 0.42% to settle at 11.85 and Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which was down 0.40% to 2.50 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 9 fell and 8 advanced, while 14 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.30% or 0.62 to $47.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.40% or 0.70 to hit $49.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.55 to trade at $1323.35 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.14% to 4.1052.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 95.67.
