Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 4.67% or 0.74 points to trade at 16.70 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 3.64% or 0.68 points to end at 19.34 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 2.30% or 1.330 points to 59.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which lost 0.15% or 0.06 points to trade at 39.41 in late trade. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) declined 0.06% or 0.02 points to end at 31.23 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) gained 0.14% or 0.004 points to 2.816.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 143 to 30 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.57% to 16.93.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.56% or 0.28 to $50.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.52% or 0.27 to hit $51.76 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1256.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.0992, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.9013.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 97.92.
