Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Glass and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lumax (TW:6192), which rose 10.00% or 5.50 points to trade at 60.50 at the close. Sunrace (TW:1526) added 9.94% or 1.60 points to end at 17.70 and Cheer Time (TW:3229) was up 9.75% or 1.15 points to 12.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tah Tong Texti (TW:1441), which lost 6.44% or 0.52 points to trade at 7.56 in late trade. Genesis Photon (TW:3383) declined 4.63% or 0.15 points to end at 3.09 and Yoko Tech (TW:6131) shed 3.95% or 0.70 points to 17.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 525 to 254 and 97 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.20% or 0.10 to $48.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.21% or 0.11 to hit $52.10 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.88 to trade at $1256.82 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.22% to 30.219, while TWD/CNY fell 0.13% to 0.2289.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 97.59.
