Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3), which rose 4.89% or 3.30 points to trade at 70.80 at the close. Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) added 4.15% or 1.15 points to end at 28.86 and Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) was up 3.69% or 1.20 points to 33.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which lost 6.09% or 0.50 points to trade at 7.71 in late trade. Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) declined 2.01% or 0.35 points to end at 17.10 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) shed 1.67% or 0.28 points to 16.48.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 252 to 111 and 31 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.45% to 40.60.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.81% or 10.23 to $1266.63 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.76% or 0.86 to hit $49.76 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 1.35% or 1.75 to trade at $131.22 .
USD/BRL was down 0.29% to 3.2658, while EUR/BRL fell 0.57% to 3.6490.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 97.35.
