Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which rose 8.56% or 0.35 points to trade at 4.44 at the close. Meanwhile, Cia Hering (SA:HGTX3) added 5.59% or 0.85 points to end at 16.05 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3) was up 5.21% or 0.49 points to 9.89 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which fell 7.02% or 1.12 points to trade at 14.83 at the close. Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) declined 4.67% or 2.55 points to end at 52.00 and Cia Energetica de Sao Paulo (SA:CESP6) was down 4.05% or 0.63 points to 14.94.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 166 to 152 and 8 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.50% to 48.70.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.80% or 9.10 to $1146.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 5.21% or 2.41 to hit $48.67 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.49% or 0.62 to trade at $127.90 .
USD/BRL was down 1.76% to 3.8432, while EUR/BRL fell 1.01% to 4.3328.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.72% at 95.53.
