Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Healthcare and Plantations sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 20.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Hotel Sigiriya PLC (CM:HSIG) added 13.90% or 13.90 points to end at 113.90 and Sunshine Holdings PLC (CM:SUN) was up 9.59% or 5.10 points to 58.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Amana Bank Ltd (CM:ABLT) declined 12.50% or 0.70 points to end at 4.90 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 11.11% or 0.10 points to 0.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 104 to 90 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) fell to 52-week highs; down 33.33% or 0.100 to 0.300. Shares in Hotel Sigiriya PLC (CM:HSIG) rose to all time highs; gaining 13.90% or 13.90 to 113.90.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.15% or 0.42 to $37.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.85% or 0.69 to hit $37.97 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.11% or 11.80 to trade at $1072.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.15% to 213.355, while USD/LKR rose 0.16% to 144.865.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 98.29.
