Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, S&P Lima Juniors and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 8.88% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.233 at the close. Meanwhile, Sider (LM:SID) added 5.88% or 0.005 points to end at 0.090 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was up 4.39% or 4.150 points to 98.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which fell 3.35% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.260 at the close. Ferreyros (LM:FER) declined 3.20% or 0.040 points to end at 1.210 and Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) was down 2.78% or 0.005 points to 0.175.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 11 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 4.54% or 1.47 to $33.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 4.23% or 1.44 to hit $35.37 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.50 to trade at $1114.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.01% to 3.4655, while EUR/PEN rose 0.42% to 3.7824.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 98.64.
