Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were La Comercial (MX:LCMRUBC), which rose 3.99% or 0.66 points to trade at 17.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 2.28% or 1.050 points to end at 47.080 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 2.24% or 1.390 points to 63.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 12.08% or 0.500 points to trade at 3.640 at the close. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) declined 4.52% or 4.300 points to end at 90.930 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was down 3.58% or 2.69 points to 72.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 73 to 50 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) rose to all time highs; up 2.28% or 1.050 to 47.080.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.89% or 10.30 to $1167.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.73% or 0.86 to hit $30.86 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.26% or 0.43 to trade at $34.02 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.87% to 18.4438, while EUR/MXN rose 0.38% to 20.5592.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 97.05.
