Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.89% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 3.62% or 0.770 points to trade at 22.060 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) added 3.01% or 0.890 points to end at 30.500 and Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) was up 2.34% or 0.100 points to 4.380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA), which lost 1.53% or 1.040 points to trade at 66.990 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) declined 0.73% or 1.050 points to end at 141.840 and Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) shed 0.31% or 0.030 points to 9.660.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 48 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.73% or 9.00 to $1239.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.78% or 0.27 to hit $34.67 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.12 to trade at $36.93 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.42% to 17.8356, while EUR/MXN fell 0.45% to 19.3784.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 98.22.
