Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.32%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale (PA:SOGN), which rose 2.58% or 0.80 points to trade at 31.80 at the close. Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA) added 2.04% or 0.102 points to end at 5.102 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was up 1.71% or 0.75 points to 44.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 2.13% or 0.122 points to trade at 5.596 in late trade. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) declined 1.53% or 1.60 points to end at 102.85 and Orange SA (PA:ORAN) shed 1.06% or 0.14 points to 13.53.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rexel (PA:RXL) which rose 3.69% to 14.18, Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) which was up 2.58% to settle at 31.80 and DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which gained 2.55% to close at 62.310.
The worst performers were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was down 4.11% to 25.930 in late trade, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which lost 2.13% to settle at 5.596 and Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) which was down 1.53% to 102.85 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 333 to 290 and 120 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.53% to 18.94.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.13% or 15.15 to $1330.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.97% or 1.43 to hit $46.67 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.88% or 0.94 to trade at $49.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1260, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8506.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 94.75.
