Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 added 0.44% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Atlas Copco AB ser. B (ST:ATCOb), which rose 1.74% or 3.9 points to trade at 227.4 at the close. Atlas Copco AB ser. A (ST:ATCOa) added 1.57% or 3.9 points to end at 252.0 and Nokia Oyj (ST:NOKIA) was up 1.44% or 0.70 points to 49.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN), which lost 1.24% or 7.0 points to trade at 556.5 in late trade. ASSA ABLOY AB ser. B (ST:ASSAb) declined 0.96% or 1.7 points to end at 175.7 and Getinge AB ser. B (ST:GETIBs) shed 0.89% or 1.5 points to 167.2.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 359 to 234 and 56 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.52% or 0.68 to $45.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.59% or 0.75 to hit $48.01 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.44% or 6.00 to trade at $1348.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.41% to 9.4911, while USD/SEK fell 0.26% to 8.4461.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.99.
