Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.62% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 3.45% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.2400 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) added 1.75% or 0.008 points to end at 0.465 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 0.42% or 0.034 points to 8.184 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which lost 6.63% or 0.1880 points to trade at 2.6490 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 4.20% or 0.1380 points to end at 3.1460 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 3.87% or 0.0270 points to 0.6700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 37 to 13 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 2.17% or 1.05 to $47.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.66% or 1.23 to hit $45.06 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.65 to trade at $1327.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1235, while EUR/GBP rose 1.16% to 0.8522.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.41.
