TORONTO, Oct 24 (Reuters) - The Canadian dollar weakened to a fresh seven-month low against its U.S. counterpart on Monday as oil prices fell, but pared some losses after stronger-than-expected domestic wholesale trade data.

The value of Canadian wholesale trade rose 0.8 percent in August, the fifth consecutive monthly gain, Statistics Canada said. The currency's strongest level of the session was C$1.3326, while it touched its weakest point since March 16 at C$1.3359.

The implied probability of a Bank of Canada rate cut by mid-2017 steadied at around 40 percent, after having jumped from around 30 percent before weaker-than-expected domestic retail sales and inflation data on Friday. BOCWATCH
