Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Auto, Glass and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Inventec Besta (TW:8201), which rose 9.91% or 0.85 points to trade at 9.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Lelon Eltr (TW:2472) added 9.81% or 2.30 points to end at 25.75 and Tyc Brother In (TW:1522) was up 9.19% or 2.05 points to 24.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yoko Tech (TW:6131), which fell 9.96% or 2.25 points to trade at 20.35 at the close. Cvilux (TW:8103) declined 9.26% or 2.50 points to end at 24.50 and J Touch (TW:3584) was down 8.72% or 0.58 points to 6.07.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 462 to 380 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tyc Brother In (TW:1522) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 9.19% or 2.05 to 24.35.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.58% or 0.25 to $43.18 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.47% or 0.22 to hit $46.87 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.25% or 2.70 to trade at $1087.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.51% to 32.681, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.1953.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 98.95.
