Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 4.37% or 0.345 points to trade at 8.240 at the close. Acerinox (MC:ACX) added 1.30% or 0.170 points to end at 13.265 and Viscofan (MC:VIS) was up 0.75% or 0.360 points to 48.430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popular (MC:POP), which lost 1.27% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.932 in late trade. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) declined 0.82% or 0.12 points to end at 15.12 and Bankinter (MC:BKT) shed 0.77% or 0.058 points to 7.436.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 80 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.17% or 2.05 to $1203.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.41% or 0.20 to hit $48.29 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.11 to trade at $51.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.0663, while EUR/GBP fell 0.75% to 0.8715.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 101.15.
